Jay Philippone

Jay Philippone began his career in 1978 at WACK-AM in Newark, NY. He soon moved to WVOR-FM in his hometown of Rochester, NY while attending St. John Fisher College and spent the next 12 years between WVOR and WHAM-AM. He credits the outstanding professionals at these stations for the success he’s had with his own company. “I don’t think I would have had nearly the career success in ownership without the opportunity to work and learn from the best broadcasters in the country at that time.”
His Priority Communications (now Priority Media) was formed in 1990 with the acquisition of Sunny 99 WDSN-FM in DuBois, PA. The company purchased Connect FM WCED, DuBois in 2003 and both stations are still in the company. At different times Jay owned WEIR-AM Weirton, WV, WCDK-FM Steubenville, OH and WLEM-AM\WQKY-FM in Emporium, PA.
Jay has served his industry as a Board Member and Joint Board Chair of the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters, President of the West Virginia Association of Broadcasters and as Chair of the Radio Advertising Bureau’s Small Market Advisory Committee. He is also a proud member of the International Broadcasters Idea Bank.
His community service includes serving on the Boards and as President of the DuBois Area Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club of DuBois.
He names Sunny 106 Winning the NAB Crystal Award for Outstanding Community Service and the outstanding team members he has worked with over his career as his finest achievements.
